A lot of adults with hypertension or high blood pressure are often told to reduce their salt intake.
This is because table salt – Sodium chloride is made of sodium and chlorine.
Eating excess table salt raises the amount of sodium in the bloodstream and wrecks the delicate balance between sodium and potassium, reducing the ability of the kidneys to remove the water.
The result is a higher blood pressure due to the extra fluid and extra strain on the delicate blood vessels.
This can also lead to kidney disease.
Reduce salt consumption especially if you are Hypertensive.
